How to add user passwords

Two groups of people should be added to Microvet as users: All employees and all vets working in your practice.

All employees using Microvet
A user name, password and access level must be allocated to a Microvet user. The user name and password combination determines whether the person will be allowed to access the program. If the wrong combination is used to try to log in, access to the program will be denied. You must also allocate an access level, between one and four, to each user, according to the duties expected from that user and as well as the position of the user in your practice. The effect of some menu options in Microvet can be disastrous if they are selected at the wrong time, for example the month-end procedure. You also would not want a temporary employee to be able to delete transactions or patients.

All the vets using Microvet
Each doctor, including locums, working in your practice, should be added as a user.
If the vet is not going to use the program, just give him/her an access level of zero. The purpose of adding the vets as users is to enable you to compile reports on the work done by each vet, thus also on the income generated by each vet. Whenever you do a transaction in Microvet, you can change the name of the user by editing the line or by going to LOG IN AGAIN. This means that you can select the vet the patient is seeing, so that you can later compile reports on the amount of work done by each vet. We recommend the following user levels:
Level 1 - Locums and temporary users
Level 2 - Staff, junior vets
Level 3 - Practice administrator, vets
Level 4 - Owner of the practice, partners

·       Level 4: This is the highest user level and ALL FUNCTIONS can be accessed. Only users with level 4 will be able to delete payments, add users, edit users, delete users, print accounting reports, sales tax reports, practice summary and access defaults.
This level is for the owner of the practice.

·       Level 3: This level will be able to ADD, EDIT, DELETE (except payments and users), print a cash-up for all months, service sales for previous months and stock sales for previous months.
This level is for vets and practice managers.

·       Level 2: This level will be able to ADD, EDIT (except users, stock and creditor transactions), print a cash-up for the current month, service sales for the current month, stock sales for the current month, access local setup and re-index.
This level is for reception staff.

·       Level 1: This level can only ADD.
This level is for temporary staff.

Microvet has four different access levels. The access level can be entered by typing a number, ranging from 1 to 4 into the field. There must be at least one user with level 4 access.
