How to set up your printers
|
Microvet
can print to most 80-column dot matrix printers, desk jets and laser jets. |
When you are using a dot
matrix printer, the printer font must be set to DRAFT and CONDENSED. The page length
should be 11 inches and TOP OF FORM of your printer must be set up correctly according to
the 11 inch page length. The printer should not line feed or page feed automatically.
These commands will be issued from Microvet. Check your printer user guide on how to
change these settings. In most cases the factory settings are correct. The
invoices and statements printed by Microvet, are 80 colums wide. The Windows 95/98/2000/ME
does not support this type of printing. Therefore BdS supplies a Windows 3.11 printer
driver to install. Some dot matrix printer drivers e.g. Epson LX300, may use the same
files and may interfere with this installation routine. If this is the case, delete all
these printer drivers first. |
Click on START |

Desk jets and laser jets
are printers that use single A4 sheets of paper. Microvet can also print statements and
invoices to these printers or you can use these printers to print MS Word documents. To
install these printers follow the steps as described in the manual that accompanied the
printer. |
You can add a second printer to your
network in order to print labels or documents. To add a second dot matrix printer repeat
steps 1 and 3 of How to install a dot matrix printer and steps 2 and 3 of How to
share a printer, on each PC. If you add a desk jet or laser jet printer to your
network, install the driver as described in their users guide and then complete
steps 2 and 3 of How to share a printer. Complete the following steps on the PC
that will print to the second printer: Open MICROVET |
If you are printing to a dot matrix printer you
can buy pre-printed A5 continuous feed paper from BdS. If
you prefer to print to a desk jet or laser jet printer you can print on single blank or
pre-printed A4 sheets. (You can design your own pre-printed A4 invoice and statement
paper. Contact BdS for the measurements that you will have to supply to the designer of
your invoice/statement paper. BdS does not supply pre-printed A4 paper.) Click on FILE on
