Important
Note:
The DBU is a database utility program that you can use to manipulate data
directly. Great care should be taken when working in the DBU. You may
cause irreparable damage, delete or change data if you do not know what
you are doing. Make a backup before you open the DBU. Please follow the
instructions very carefully. If you are unsure of any instruction please
do not hesitate to contact Otomys directly at (012) 348 4071. Otomys will
not be held accountable for any data loss or corruption.
1.
Copy the data files
Exit
from of Microvet on all the computers
Make
a backup
Do
these steps on the File Server
Click
on START
Click
on PROGRAMS
Click
on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT and 2000)
Click
on WINDOWS EXPLORER
Look
for the MFW5 folder on your (C:) drive and double click on it to open it
Look
for the following files:
SERVICE.DBF
STOCK.DBF
METHODS.DBF
METHITEM.DBF
Copy
these files to a stiffy disk
If
these files are too large for the stiffy, you can compress them as
follows:
Have
an empty stiffy disk ready. Put
the disk in drive (A:).
Click
on START
Click
on PROGRAMS
Click
on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT and 2000)
Click
on MS-DOS PROMPT or COMMAND PROMT
Type
the following:
CD\MFW5
PKZIP
-A A:\PRICES
SERVICE.DBF
PKZIP
-A A:\PRICES
STOCK.DBF
PKZIP
-A A:\PRICES
MET*.DBF
EXIT
Go
to the second computer and copy these files in the MFW5 folder and
overwrite the older files.
If
you used file compression, extract the files as follows:
Insert
the disk in drive (A:).
Do
the following:
Click
on START
Click
on PROGRAMS
Click
on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT and 2000)
Click
on MS-DOS PROMPT or COMMAND PROMT
Type
the following:
CD\MFW5
PKUNZIP
-O A:\PRICES
EXIT

Adjust the numbering in the Enviro.dbf file
Click
on START
Click
on PROGRAMS
Click
on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT and 2000)
Click
on MS-DOS PROMPT or COMMAND PROMT
Type
the following:
CD\MFW5
DBU
F2
DATABASE
Open
SERVICE.DBF
F5
DATABASE
Look
at the SRNUM column and Page Down to the last record
Write
the last record number down
Press
ESC
Repeat
these steps the following:
STOCK.DBF
®
STNUM column
METHODS.DBF
®
MTNUM column
METHITEM.DBF
®
MINUM column
F2
DATABASE
Open
ENVIRO.DBF
F5
DATABASE
Look
for the following fields and change their numbers to the numbers that you
have written down:
ENLSRNUM
(enter the last service number)
ENLSTNUM
(enter the last stock item number)
ENLMTNUM
(enter the last
method number)
ENLMINUM
(enter the last methitm number)
Press
Enter after the last number
ESC
ESC
EXIT
TO DOS

Start
Microvet
The
program will automatically start to re-index

message may appear: ‘File is not marked with a code page’
