working in the DBU. You may cause irreparable damage, delete or change data if you do not
know what you are doing. Make a backup before you open the DBU. Please follow the

| How to fix a database with zero value records |
This is a guide to search and correct errors in
the database. Errors can have the following causes:
We use a DOS program DATABASE UTILITY (DBU) to
work with data files. DBU is not part of
Microvet and works outside the application. Changes
made to the data files by using the DBU, is not verified by the application. Exit from of Microvet on all the computers Make a backup Do these steps on the file server Click on START Click on PROGRAMS Click on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT
and 2000) Click on MS-DOS PROMPT or COMMAND PROMT (From now on you will not be able to use your
mouse, use the Enter key and the arrows on your keyboard.) Type the following: CD\MFW5 DBU F2 DATABASE Open ACCOUNTS.DBF OK F3 INDEX Type in next to File and Key: ACNUM OK (Wait for the message "file
indexed") F5 DATABASE Look in the ACNUM column If there are any zero's in the top of the column
do the following: Put your cursor on the first zero Press the DELETE button on your keyboard ONCE The message <Deleted> should pop up on top
of the headings Do this with each zero in the ACNUM column ESC F6 PACK "Pack ACCOUNTS.DBF?" Press Y on your keyboard F2 DATABASE Open DEPEND.DBF OK F3 INDEX Type in next to File and Key: DPACNUM OK (Wait for the message "file
indexed") F5 DATABASE Look in the DPACNUM column If there are any zero's in the top of the column
do the following: Put your cursor on the first zero Press the DELETE button on your keyboard ONCE The message <Deleted> should pop up on top
of the headings Do this with each zero in the DPACNUM column ESC F6 PACK "Pack DEPEND.DBF?" Press Y on your keyboard F2 DATABASE Open TRANSAC.DBF Enter on OK F3 INDEX Type in next to File and Key: TRACNUM OK (Wait for the message "file
indexed") F5 DATABASE Look at the TRACNUM column
If there are any zero's in the top of the column do the following: Put your cursor on the first zero Press the DELETE button on your keyboard ONCE The message <Deleted> should pop up on top
of the headings Do this with each zero in the TRACNUM column ESC F6 PACK "Pack TRANSAC.DBF?" Press Y on your keyboard F2 Open TITEM.DBF OK F3 INDEX Type in next to File and Key: TIACNUM OK (Wait for the message "file
indexed") F5 DATABASE Look at the TIACNUM column If there are any zero's in the top of the column
do the following: Put your cursor on the first zero Press the DELETE button on your keyboard ONCE The message <Deleted> should pop up on top
of the headings Do this with each zero in the TIACNUM column ESC F6 PACK "Pack TITEM.DBF?" Press Y on your keyboard F2 Open
OLDTRAN.DBF OK F3 INDEX Type in next to File and Key: OTACNUM OK (Wait for the message "file
indexed") F5 DATABASE Look at the OTACNUM column
If there are any zero's in the top of the column do the following: Put your cursor on the first zero Press the DELETE button on your keyboard ONCE The message <Deleted> should pop up on top
of the headings Do this with each zero in the OTACNUM column ESC F6 PACK "Pack OLDTRAN.DBF?" Press Y on your keyboard ESC ESC "Exit to DOS?" Y Type the following:
DEL *.NTX
DEL *.IDX
EXIT Start Microvet The program will automatically start to re-index A message may appear: File is not marked
with a code page Click on Windows The selection will go to Windows ANSI Click on Select Log in |
