How to fix a database with zero value records

This is a guide to search and correct errors in the database.

Errors can have the following causes:

  • power failure

  • power spike or dip

  • computer accidentally switched off while files are open

  • server is shut down while network stations are logged into the application

  • computer virus

  • disk errors

We use a DOS program DATABASE UTILITY (DBU) to work with data files.  DBU is not part of Microvet and works outside the application.  Changes made to the data files by using the DBU, is not verified by the application.
