| How to restore a deleted client |
If there are transactions, old transactions,
patients, or clinical records linked to a client, and the client is deleted, the
transactions, old transactions, patients, and clinical records will remain in the
databases. It is possible to recover this data. There
are two methods to restore a deleted client, choose one of these options: 1. Remove
the deleted flag in DBU 2. Create
a new client with the original client number Method 1: Remove the deleted flag in the DBU When any record is deleted in Microvet it is
flagged as DELETED but remains in the database until the database is re-indexed. If a record has been deleted but the system has
not been re-indexed, the DELETED flag can be removed and the record will be restored. If
you have re-indexed after the client has been deleted, use the second method. Exit from of Microvet on all the computers Make a backup Do these steps on the file server Click on START Click on PROGRAMS Click on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT
and 2000) Click on MS-DOS PROMPT or COMMAND PROMT (From now on you will not be able to use your
mouse, use the Enter key and the arrows on your keyboard.) Type the following: CD\MFW5 DBU F2 DATABASE Open ACCOUNTS.DBF OK F3 INDEX Type in
File
ACNAM
Key
ACNAMSUR OK (Wait for the message "file

order, find the deleted record. Put the hi-lite on the deleted record. At the top it will show <DELETED>. Press the DELETE button ONCE on the keyboard. The <DELETED> flag will disappear. ESC ESC Exit to DOS Y DEL *.IDX DEL *.NTX EXIT Start Microvet The program will automatically start to re-index A message may appear: File is not marked
with a code page Click on Windows The selection will go to Windows ANSI Click on Select Log in Method2: Create a new client with the original client
number In this
procedure we will find the original client number, add a new client, change the client
number to the original number and re-index. 2.1. Find
the original client number There are different ways to find the original
account number Open Microvet
2.2. Add a
new client Add a new client in Microvet in the usual way. Fill in all the detail of the deleted client. (The client number will be a new number but we
are going to change it shortly 2.3. Change the client number Exit from of Microvet on all the computers Make a backup Do these steps on the file server Click on START Click on PROGRAMS Click on ACCESSORIES (only for windows ME/XP/NT
and 2000) Click on MS-DOS PROMPT or COMMAND PROMT (From now on you will not be able to use your
mouse, use the Enter key and the arrows on your keyboard.) Type the following: CD\MFW5 DBU F2 DATABASE Open ACCOUNTS.DBF OK F5 DATABASE Press PAGE DOWN and go to the last record in the
database. This will be the new client with the wrong
number. Change the ACNUM to the number of the deleted
record. ENTER ESC ESC EXIT TO DOS Y DEL *.IDX EXIT Start Microvet The program will automatically start to re-index A message may appear: File is not marked
