How to restore a deleted patient

When a patient is deleted, it is possible that the related clinical history is still in the database.  This procedure will recover this data.

There are two methods to restore a deleted patient, choose one of these options:

1.  Remove the deleted flag in DBU

2.  Create a new patient with the original patient number

Method 1:  Remove the deleted flag in the DBU

When any record is deleted in Microvet it is flagged as DELETED but remains in the database until the database is re-indexed.  If a record has been deleted but the system has not been re-indexed, the DELETED flag can be removed and the record will be restored. If you have re-indexed after the patient has been deleted, use the second method.

1.1  Find a clinical record number

Open Microvet

Click PATIENTS

Click CLINICAL RECORD

Click EDIT CLINICAL RECORD

Find a clinical record for the deleted patient and get the clinical record number.

1.2  Get the original patient number

Exit from of Microvet on all the computers

Make a backup

Do these steps on the file server
